Z-FED's plants avoid 290,000 metric tons of CO2 Emissions

Electricity taken Z-FED cogeneration power plants are significantly 'cleaner' than that of electricity from the general market grid.  For example, natural gas fired cogeneration plants emit virtually no Mercury, and very little, if any sulfure dioxide.  Nitrogen Oxides are constrained through lo-NOX technologies.

Our customers avoid CO2 emissions, as well, as the same unit of natural gas used to fire the plant produces thermal energy that would have otherwise come from a conventional boiler.

In 2015, Z-FED avoided 84,600 metric tons of CO2, bringing the total avoidance for our powerplants to 290,000 metric tons.
